Xiaomi Mi 5s live photo reveals Apple iPhone-like circular home button

An alleged live photo of the Xiaomi Mi 5s smartphone has been spotted online which shows a circular home button like the iPhones.

Xiaomi Mi 5s has been garnering a lot of attention with its leaks and rumors circulating the internet every now and then. Xiaomi’s Mi 5 was launched earlier this year, and there has been news that Xiaomi is working on an upgraded version of the flagship smartphone. Just yesterday we had written about Xiaomi Mi 5s ditching the home button and opting for an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner which will be inserted beneath the front glass. For this development, Xiaomi is said to use Qualcomm’s Sense ID ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner. But turns out, an alleged live photo of the upcoming smartphone has surfaced online showing a circular home button below the display, which is very Apple iPhone-like.

The image was spotted by My Smart Price and it shows only the front panel of the Xiaomi Mi 5s. The first thing that catches your eye is the small circular home button. This is in stark contrast to the Mi 5, and we must admit that it reminds us of the Apple iPhones. Also, if this photo is to be believed, then this would go against the rumor that the Mi 5s will be ditching the home button. Looking at the image again, it shows a Mi 5s in white color with the circular home button below as mentioned before. On the top panel, we have the front camera lens and on the left side, as customary, the Mi branding can be seen.

Xiaomi Mi 5s specifications

Accumulating all the rumors and leaks, we can expect the Xiaomi Mi 5s to feature a 5.15-inch full HD (1080p) display with Force Touch feature similar to the 3D Touch on Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 smartphones. Under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset clocked at 2.4GHz is expected to run, which will be paired with Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone is also expected to come with 6GB of RAM and internal storage of 256GB.
On the photography front, the Mi 5s will likely sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS). It could be powered by a 3,490mAh battery along with Qualcomm’s Fast Charge 3.0 support. Connectivity option expected include USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi 802.11.
Compared to the Mi 5, the Mi 5s looks like a power packed smartphone and if rumors were to be true then the upgrades would come in departments like the chipset, the RAM, the internal storage and also the rear camera of the Mi 5.
