Lenovo’s Motorola has launched the new Moto e3 Power in India today. The Moto e3 Power is priced at Rs 7,999 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart. Motorola is going for an open sale with this smartphone, and it will be available on the e-commerce portal starting tonight at 11.59 pm.
Motorola and Flipkart also have special offers for the Moto e3 Power on the opening day. For starters, there is an exchange offer of upto Rs 7000 off on exchange for an older phone with an additional Rs 1000 on regular exchange value just for today. There’s also a free 32GB Sandisk microSD card worth Rs 599, as well as a Moto Pulse headset for just Rs 499 for the buyers. Flipkart is also offering no cost EMI at Rs 1334 per month (6 months), and Rs 800 discount straight up for SBI card users on the website.
Motorola’s Moto E smartphone was one of the winning budget brands, and one that offered pure Android at a price point of Rs 6999. Motorola claims they have over 3 million plus users on the Moto E3 brand in India currently, and it will hope to boost this number with the new Moto e3 Power.
Moto e3 was officially announced in the UK in July 2016 and has a 2800 mAh battery; the Moto e3 Power is a battery focused smartphone which comes with a 3500 mAh battery. It makes sense Motorola is bringing this phone to India given rivals like Xiaomi are offering Redmi 3s with a 4100 mAh battery at a starting price of Rs 6,999. A good battery life remains an important consideration for many users in India when picking a smartphone.
Moto e3 Power series has a design similar to the one seen on Moto G4 and G4 Plus; Motorola also launched the Moto G4 Play in India at a price of Rs 8,999. The Moto G4 Play has a 5-inch full HD display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable to 128GB via microSD) along with a 2800 mAh battery.
The Moto e3 Power has a 5-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass 3, a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.0GHz coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable storage up to 32GB via dedicated SD card slot). Moto e3 Power has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. The camera rear camera also supports features like geo-tagging, panorama and HDR. Moto e3 Power runs stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Motorola has not yet confirmed if this phone will get the Android Nougat update in the future.
In India, the Moto e3 Power comes with water-repellent coating. Like other new devices in India, this is a 4G + VoLTE ready smartphone, making it valid with Reliance Jio’s Welcome Offer.
