News=Xiaomi could launch a 4-inch variant of the Mi 5s on September 27

Xiaomi is rumored to launch the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus at an event scheduled on September 27. Now, a leaked image has appeared online that shows a smaller variant of the Mi 5s.

Xiaomi is gearing up for its September 27 event in China where the company is expected to unveil its Mi 5s smartphone. Prior to the launch, a lot of details about the smartphone have leaked online. There are rumors that the company will launch multiple variants of the Mi 5s, dubbed Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. New rumorssuggest there could be a smaller variant of the Mi 5s as well. The smaller variant has already been spotted online ahead of the launch.

The design of the unnamed Xiaomi device looks very similar to Apple’s iPhone SE except for the home button. The iPhone SE has a round-shaped home button whereas the leaked photo shows that the Mi 5s has a capsule-shaped home button. However this contradicts the previous rumors that said that the Xiaomi Mi 5s would feature a circular home button much like the iPhones.  The smartphone is expected to come with a 4.3-inch 720p display. Under the hood it will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The smartphone will sport a 13-megapixel rear camera. It will also pack 2,350mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
Based on what we have come across so far, the Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to come with a 5.15-inch full HD (1080p) display with Force Touch feature, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset clocked at 2.4GHz. The smartphone could come with 6GB of RAM just like the LeEco Le Max 2 and OnePlus 3. It will also come along with a 256GB internal storage variant.

On the camera front, the Mi 5s could sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS). It could be powered by a 3,490mAh battery along with Qualcomm’s Fast Charge 3.0 support. Its connectivity options include USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi 802.11
Xiaomi could also launch the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus. While the details about the Mi 5s Plus are less right now, some rumors say that the smartphone could come with a Snapdragon 821 processor and 5.7-inch dual-curve display. This may be the variant that could actually feature Qualcomm’s Sense ID ultra sonic fingerprint scanner.
The Mi 5s is said to be the upgraded version of Xiaomi’s flagship device, Xiaomi Mi 5, which was launched earlier this year. The Xiaomi Mi 5 runs Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone is available in three storage variants, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. It sports a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 4-megapixel front facing camera. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery, and also comes with fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button up front.
