Lenovo launched three new budget 4G LTE compatible smartphones, the A6600, the A6600 Plus and the A7700 in the Indian market on Monday. "The new smartphones are 4G ready & VoLTE enabled multimedia powerhouses for entertainment on the go," the company said in a statement.
"The Lenovo A series is one of our star performers and last year, we sold a million plus units of A6000, A6000 Plus and A7000. Continuing the legacy, the A6600 and A7700 series offers brilliant performance with unparalleled user experience at a competitive price point," Sudhin Mathur, executive director, Mobile Business Group, Lenovo India said.
The A6600 and A6600 Plus boast of a matte finish on the back, and come with a 5-inch 720p display with 72 per cent screen to body ratio, according to Lenovo. Both the phones are powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek 6735 processor. But while the A6600 comes with 1GB RAM, the A6600 Plus has 2GB RAM. Both the phones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The A6600 and the A6600 Plus come with 16GB of internal memory which is expandable via microSD card. These are backed by a 2,300 mAh battery. Both the phones also come with an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus.
The new A6600 series starts at Rs 6,999 onwards and will be available in Matte White and Matte Black color options across physical retail outlet starting mid-September.
The A7700 on the other hand comes with a 5.5-inch 720p screen and is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek 6735 processor clubbed with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory which is further expandable. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and supports twin rear speakers powered by Waves Maxx Audio.
The phone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera, and is backed by a 2,900 mAh battery.
The A7700 is priced at Rs 8,540 and will be available at physical retail outlet in September end
