How to root Tecno w4
Download SuperSU.zip here   and save it to the phone's storage
Download TWRP for Tecno w4 here
Unzip the TWRP zip file and flash the recovery image to the phone using SP flash tool

How Can I Flash it Using SP Flashtool? Please see guide and download link here

Boot the phone into TWRP recovery mode (by Holding the Vol Up and Power button for 5 seconds)
In TWRP recovery, Choose install zip from sdcard- to Choose zip from sdcard use vol up and down scroll up and down then choose the Supersu.zip file from the root of your sdcard.
Scroll to yes and install, after a successful flashing go back and reboot.

You are now rooted! go straight to Google Playstore and download root checker to verify your root status.

1.Connect your phone to PC and let the driver install
2.Install QPST
3.Open QPST Configuration -> Add new port -> Select the com port of your device -> exit
4.Go to Start -> All Programs -> QPST eMMC Software Download open the tool -> Check program boot loaders -> Browse for the device com port

Problem of BluetoothChat example

Last year (June 26, 2015) I have a post to show how to "Import Android code sample of BluetoothChat to Android Studio". It work perfectly AT THAT TIME. But I re-try it again on update Android Studio 2.1, and test on ASUS Zenfont 2 running Android 5.0 and XiaoMi RedMi 2 running Android 4.4.4; it almost NOT WORK - no problem in pairing and connecting, but fail to send/receive data: sometimes one-way chat, sometimes totally cannot chat!!!

Then I change the Project Structure to target sdk version Android 4.4 (KitKat), it can be improved, but not 100%.


I have no idea is it related to new Android Studio/SDK? or related to new Android version? or related to individual device(s)?

TECNO seems to be faster than the speed of light. Just within some couples of weeks, they’ve released 3 devices, 

TECNO J8, 

TECNO W4,

 TECNO L8 

and now TECNO Droidpad 8D (8II).

It is a 8-inches tablet with IPS capacity touch screen. Run on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. I was expecting it to run Android 6.0 out of the box but my assertion was wrong. I don’t know why Tecno only pilot Tecno W4 with Android 6.0 while others run Android 5.1 Lollipop.
